Goku is fighting Cell, who is getting tired and uses the Solar Flare x100 to escape, thinking Goku can't see through it. Later, Piccolo realizes that his eyes haven't been able to regenerate quickly enough for him to be able to keep up with Cell's speed, and suggests a solution; fuse with Nail and become one being again. Dragon Ball Z (ドラゴンボールZ, Doragon Bōru Zetto?) often referred to as DBZ, is the long-running sequel to the anime Dragon Ball. The series is a close adaptation of the second (and far longer) portion of the Dragon Ball manga written and drawn by Akira Toriyama. The series begins five years after the end of the original manga. Dragon Ball Z (Japanese: ドラゴンボールZ ゼット Hepburn: Doragon Bōru Zetto, commonly abbreviated as DBZ) is a Japanese anime television series produced by Toei Animation. It is the sequel to Dragon Ball and adapts the latter 324 chapters of the original 519-chapter Dragon Ball manga series created by Akira Toriyama which ran in Weekly Shōnen Jump from 1988-1995. Dragon Ball Z aired in Japan on Fuji TV from April 1989 to January 1996, before getting dubbed in territories including the United States, Canada, Australia, Europe, India and Latin America.
When Cell announces the Cell Games, Goku rushes home to tell his friends and family. He then begins training till the day of the games arrive. During this time, Goku practices with Gohan, who eventually is able to use his Super Saiyan 2 powers at will (much to Piccolo's astonishment). No time is wasted however and Goku manages to get a good night's sleep before the next day, where he finds a pretty disappointed Mr. Satan waiting for him. But, Mr. Satan makes things clear that he doesn't intend on fighting Cell until he becomes number one in Satan City and due to an agreement with Chi-Chi will never fight again after that. Goku promises not to tell Chi-Chi and heads off with Mr. Satan, Hercule, Bee and Tien Shinhan to take their place in the ring."
The Z Fighters are training at the Kame House. Krillin, Tien, and Yamcha are battling Vegeta as Gotenks. Vegeta mocks them saying they can't even scratch him with their attacks. They are shocked when he simply catches one of their punches and says that he has learned to sense Ki. They attack once more only for Vegeta to make quick work of them by pummeling them with a barrage of attacks and finishing Krillin off with a Big Bang Attack. This leaves Goku missing from the training in the series. Piccolo mysteriously senses his location and flies off after him while Vegeta surprises everyone with his own flight ability. Gohan is able to sense Piccolo flying toward Goku's location and flies off to follow him. After several hours of training hard against the super fast Cell Juniors, Goku finally takes a break against Piccolo's commands. When Vegeta flies over, the two Saiyans decide to fight hard against each other to improve themselves and takes on each other in combat, however barely keeping up with each other's speed in spite of going at Super Saiyan 2 power levels. While they were fighting, Piccolo begins teaching Gohan how to use his ki energy without transforming into a Super Saiyan so he can fight on
Dragonball Z is manga from beginning to end, mixing all kinds of furious martial arts elements with humor, backstabbing and constant space opera wars. It's about Earth being the battleground for saiyans, nameks androids and other alien races who want to maintain their dominance by killing off the weaker species. Think of X-men but in a sci fi setting with intergalactic travel and lots of martial arts fighting. The Universe 6 and 7 Invitational Fighting Tournament continues. Goku faces off against a guy who looks exactly like Freeza. Will Goku and the warriors from Universe 7 be able to pull through and win the tournament and its prize―the Super Dragon Balls?
Cell is approached by Vegeta and the others, but he ignores them, wanting to fight Goku. Goku asks Cell to be his opponent instead and Cell takes up Goku's challenge. The battle begins with a series of extreme speed strikes from both fighters, leaving everyone in awe of the fight. Cell then transforms into his first form and Goku transforms into Super Saiyan 1. Dragonball Z, is the continuation of the story told in the Dragon Ball. It tells the battle between Earth's heroes, and many aliens that reach Earth hoping to be able to fight, and defeat the strongest fighters on Earth.
